This is a social river run from Ghost Lake Dam to Cochrane!
Meet other paddlers, learn about our beautiful backyard run, and enjoy roughly 2.5/3hours on the river with other Cochrane Paddler members.
Previous experience and practice in Class 2 whitewater is an asset but not a necessity. You can expect a few spots that will likely flip an inexperienced river paddler.
You must be able to wet exit if in a kayak.
You must be able to get on your paddle board if you fall off.
You must provide your own paddling gear for this trip.
You must have proper equipment: PFD, helmet, watercraft of choice with paddle, appropriate paddling attire, river shoes.
Paddle boarders will need a quick release leash, or no leash at all. No ankle leashes.
We will meet first at Riverfront Park to set shuttle (you will be emailed shuttle logistics after registration).
Where: Ghost Lake Dam to Riverfront Park
Capacity: 6 persons
Cost: free with membership!
Time: usually early or mid afternoon start times. Times dependant on volunteer availability!
*If we have volunteers willing and able to help lead trips, and act as safety, our group run capacity can GROW! AND, more trips will happen! Reach out if you feel you can volunteer as a river trip lead to cochranepaddlers@gmail.com
Please email cochranepaddlers@gmail.com to see if this trip is right for you if you are unsure! Some gear may be able to be provided. Or, join us for a Social Float first to see how you feel!
